101 House At The End - The Reading Room
The Reading Room was designed to transport guests into a world of Victorian charm and literal escapism. The goal was to create a cosy yet sophisticated retreat where history, magic, and comfort blend seamlessly.
To achieve this, I incorporated ornate William Morris wallpaper, old leather furnishings, and a grand fireplace, all of which evoke the warmth and charm of a period home. Reinstating the antique fireplace, with its intricate carved wood surround and hand-painted floral tiles, was sourced second hand and serves as the focal point of the room.
To heighten the sense of history and storytelling, I sourced antique books, vintage artwork and collectables which were carefully arranged on the built-in bookshelves. A well-worn writing desk and period-style accessories enhance the magical atmosphere, inviting guests to curl up with a book.
The result is a space that feels both cosy and spellbinding, a perfect escape where guests can unwind, read, or immerse themselves in the enchanting atmosphere that 101 House At The End has to offer guests.
